"Canceling Was More of a Hassle Than Expected"
Canceling ended up being way more frustrating than I thought it would be. I was clicking around for a while and still wasn’t totally sure it had actually gone through. My sister was sitting with me and even she was like, “Why is this so confusing?” Definitely not the best last impression

"Food safety section was a bit underwhelming"
The food safety part covered the basics, so it wasn’t completely useless, but I was hoping for more detail. Some of the communication felt unclear too, which got annoying because I kept expecting a better explanation and didn’t really get one.

"Decent for the basics, but not a huge career boost"
It helped a bit with the basics, and I did pick up a few useful things here and there. I just wouldn’t say it really gave me the career boost I was hoping for... kind of useful, but not quite enough.

"I’ve been using Rouxbe for a few..."
I’ve been using Rouxbe for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed with the course content. It feels well put together without being overwhelming, and it’s the kind of learning that makes you feel like, yes, you can actually get better at cooking.

The videos are clear, easy to follow, and not rushed, which I really appreciate. I especially like how they explain the why behind different cooking steps, because that makes everything click more. Some lessons are on the basic side, but even those helped me notice little habits I could improve.
The practice sections after the lessons are a big plus too. It feels more like proper skill-building than just watching random recipe videos online. Overall, I’m really happy with it so far, and it’s definitely made me feel more confident in the kitchen.

"Nutrition section was disappointing"
I was a bit let down by the nutrition lessons. They felt really basic and kind of all over the place, more like quick tips than an actual guide. I was hoping for clearer science behind the advice and more practical examples I could actually use. It might be fine if you’re brand new to nutrition, but it just wasn’t what I was looking for.

"Really easy to follow"
I like how the lessons are set up. Everything feels organized in a simple way, so it’s easy to know what to do next and actually useful for learning

"Great for everyday home cooking"
I used one of the lessons for a weeknight dinner and it was actually easy to follow. If that’s any indication, this is really good for normal home cooking, not fancy stuff you’ll only make once...

"Technique lessons felt a bit too slow for me"
I tried Rouxbe because I wanted to get better at actual cooking techniques, but for me it ended up feeling a little too slow. Some of the videos spent a lot of time on basics, so I caught myself skipping around more than I expected.
There’s definitely useful information in the lessons, and I can see how some people would like the pace. Personally, though, I wanted more practice feedback and a more hands-on feel, especially for the price. It felt more like watching class videos than really being guided through the skills.

"I signed up for Rouxbe hoping it..."
I signed up for Rouxbe hoping it would help me move beyond the basic stuff and actually sharpen my cooking skills, but quickly it started to feel way more beginner-level than I expected. Some of the lessons were fine, but a lot of it felt like things I’d already picked up from free videos or just cooking at home over the years.
The more I went through it, the less I trusted that it was going to deliver what I paid for. There wasn’t enough deeper technique, personalized feedback, or anything that really pushed me. I ended up canceling feeling disappointed, like I’d spent time and money on something that didn’t live up to what it promised.

"I did eventually get my refund, but..."
I did eventually get my refund, but it took more back-and-forth than I expected. The whole process felt slower than it needed to be, and at times the responses came across like they were talking down to me, which was frustrating. It wasn’t a terrible experience overall, but definitely not as smooth as I hoped...

"Helpful overall, but a little much when you’re just starting out"
I’m still new to cooking, like I only recently got comfortable chopping onions without feeling stressed, so I was hoping this would be super beginner-friendly. Some of it was easy to follow and I definitely picked up useful tips, but a few lessons moved kind of fast and got more detailed than I was ready for. It’s good and I’m glad I tried it, but if you’re a total beginner, you might have to pause and rewatch parts a few times

"I’ve tried a handful of recipes on..."
I’ve tried a handful of recipes on Rouxbe now, most of them turned out really good. The instructions are clear, and the food has definitely been better than some of the random recipes I’ve pulled from online, where the measurements or timing can be kind of ridiculous. A few dishes did take more prep than I expected, so I wouldn’t say everything is ideal for a busy weeknight. But overall, the recipe quality feels solid, and I’d definitely use it again.

"The recipe seems nice, but some..."
The recipe seems nice, but some of the ingredients was kinda too fancy for me. I had a hard time finding them at my regular store.

"Not really helpful for my kitchen job"
I signed up for Rouxbe thinking it might give me some useful stuff I could actually bring into my kitchen job, like little habits or techniques that make service go smoother, but it didn’t really land for me. A lot of it felt basic, and I kept thinking, okay, but this isn’t really how it feels when tickets are stacking up and everyone’s moving fast.
Some of the videos were decent, so it’s not like it was terrible, but I needed more practical training around speed, prep flow, staying organized under pressure, that kind of real workday stuff. It felt more like home cooking lessons than workplace training, and for what I needed, it just wasn’t worth it.

"I had to reach out to Rouxbe customer..."
I had to reach out to Rouxbe customer service about an issue with my account. They were polite and professional, but it took longer than I expected to get a straight answer. When they finally responded, the information was useful and the issue was handled, but some of the wording made me feel a bit talked down to, like I should have already known what they were explaining. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible experience, just slower and less comfortable than I hoped.

"Useful bits, but not really worth it for me"
I really wanted to like rouxbe, and to be fair, there were a few lessons where I picked up some helpful tips. But overall it felt slow and kind of dry to get through. Some of the videos spent a long time explaining things that seemed basic, so I found myself losing interest.

For the price, I expected a smoother experience and maybe more feedback along the way. I also got a little confused because an email would say one thing, but then the course page or next steps seemed to say something else. I did learn a bit, but not enough to feel like it was worth it for me.

"Seems legit, but I’m not totally sure"
The certification looks credible to me, but like I said, it’s hard to know how every employer will view it. Some might take it seriously, others maybe not as much. Like I said, it seems okay overall, I just wouldn’t assume it guarantees anything.

"Didn’t feel worth the price to me"
I gave it a try because I was hoping the lessons would feel more in-depth for the cost. After going through it, though, most of the content felt basic and moved slower than I expected. It wasn’t bad, but based on my experience, I didn’t feel like I was getting anything I couldn’t find for less somewhere else. I ended up cancelling because the value just wasn’t there for me.

"Way Worse on My Phone and iPad Than I Expected"
I tried using it on both my phone and my iPad, and it was frustrating. Compared to other apps I use every day, this one felt really clunky. The videos kept freezing, and on my tablet the buttons barely responded half the time. I expected it to be much smoother

"Decent course, but I felt uneasy after paying"
I’ll be honest, the plant-based course did have some helpful lessons, and the videos were clear enough. But after I paid, I started feeling a bit unsure, like maybe I had spent too much for what I was getting. A lot of the material felt basic and moved slower than I expected. I did pick up a few useful tips, but for the price, I was hoping for way more. Not sure I’d pay that much again
